The aim of this course is to provide ‘best practice’
physical skills, supported by sound mental skills,
underpinning knowledge and attitude, in accordance
with all relevant codes, practices, legislation and
standards in the inspection and verification of Pressure
Safety Valve Inspection and Verification.
The focus of this learning program is very much on Safety, Health, Environmental issues and Quality in relation to PSV inspection and verification. Training will be on best practice, in addition it will be identified what can and will happen if these methods and systems are not followed.
A range of equipment will be used throughout the program, which includes conventional PSVs, balanced bellows PSVs, modulating POPSVs and snap action POPSVs. Certain manufacturers may be available on request.

Course Objectives
- Identify different safety valve types and their basic design function
- Describe in detail the full calibration process
- Dismantle, repair and reassemble equipment to set procedures
- Perform pressure testing operations to ensure the various equipment has met the correct standard
- Identify standards relating to pressure safety valves
- Identify potential problems that may cause loss of production or situations with safety implementations
Who Should Attend
Technicians and management responsible for PSV inspection and verification would
benefit from this learning program. It recommended that delegates have experience of PSV’s or have completed our PSV course before enrolling on this course to ensure they have a good understanding of PSV’s.
