Compression Fittings and Tube Bending

Course Details

The aim of this course is to provide a fundamental understanding of tube bending and the fittings used in the instrumentation process. Each candidate will understand the basic design principles of each fitting type and identify where they can be used.

Particular focus will be on potential health, safety and environmental hazards directly related to the equipment enabling the candidates to control any associated risks.

The course is partially workshop-based and practical training is carried out in our custom-built training workshop.

Course Content

History of screw threads
Typical installations
Typical problems
How fittings work
Identification
Tube bending - tube and pipe
Tube bending - measure and mark
Preparation
Assembly procedure
Question and answer session

Course Objectives

Following training, attendees will be able to:
Clearly identify tubing.
Identify various tubing designs and materials.
Identify common thread forms and compression fitting types.
Describe how a compression fitting works.
Conduct basic tube bending operations.
Carry out inspection and identify common defects.
Identify potential problems that may cause loss of production or situations with safety implementations.
